Builders

Standard

This weekend, my sweet men made me a beside table. I’ve been using some boxes stacked on top of each other and covered with some fabric for, oh, 3 years. Bret and Luke spent a few hours together making me a nice shelf, just the right height and just the right size.

“I’ll drill those holes, no problem.”

“Ummm, I’m not sure you’re doing it right, Dad.”

“Look, Mom! Isn’t it great!”

I’m so enjoying using my new table, and thankful for a husband who can build useful things. I’m also thankful that he wants to create and works to make life better for me. It was fun (and a little scary for me) watching Luke learn about tools and wood and building.

Here’s the finished project, already in use:

About Rachel

Most importantly, I am saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is more than enough to satisfy my heart. In His abundant goodness, I am also delighted to be a wife and mama. I work at home and enjoy spending most of my time caring for my husband, 2 sons and new daughter. I also try to squeeze in some creativity, coffee, chocolate, and good books.

  1. How precious! I think it’s wonderful that Bret uses his talents (of which he has many) to make things for his family. Also, wonderful that he takes the times to include and teach Luke. And, Rachel, you have a real talent to take such great pictures.

  2. Rach, that is so great! I’ve been using my “craft tower”… i.e. my plastic drawers from Target… as a nightstand for almost 3 years too! I know Colin reads your blog… I’m hoping he’s inspired! LOL 🙂 Love you sweet friend.
