Thanksgiving Parte Une

Standard

I was so blessed to get to spend the week of Thanksgiving at Bret’s parent’s home, with all their family. We’ve had a stressful, busy, intense semester, so a week of resting in the country, encouraging fellowship, and laughter is just what we needed. I think I’m going to do several posts, because there are lots to share. I didn’t start taking pictures until actual Thanksgiving Day, although lots of other people did.

Thanksgiving was perfect, with good family time, yummy food, and most importantly, thankfulness to God for his abundant goodness and grace to us. I am so thankful for the women of Bret’s family! They are such role-models and encouragers to me.

This is Bret and I with his Granny. This woman astounds me: she’s in her eighties and still paints walls, mows the lawn, and sews creative and useful things.

This is Bret’s Oma and my sister-in-law, Bethan. Oma is very godly and wise, and so encouraging and helpful to me in raising Luke.  She’s in better shape than I am, and has more energy. Bethan is such a sweet sister to me. Its been so fun journeying through mommyhood with her. She loves Jesus and helps me to live in devotion to Him.

This is my mother-in-love, Kellie, and the newest Rogers lady, Jane! Kellie humbly walks with Lord and has always encouraged, exhorted and loved me as a daughter. Her home is a place of rest and refreshment. Jane is precious (!) and such a sweet little lady!

About Rachel

Most importantly, I am saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is more than enough to satisfy my heart. In His abundant goodness, I am also delighted to be a wife and mama. I work at home and enjoy spending most of my time caring for my husband, 2 sons and new daughter. I also try to squeeze in some creativity, coffee, chocolate, and good books.

  1. “a place of rest and refreshment” — agreed. Bethan and I discussed that a few times on the way back. It’s uncanny how disarming my parents are, and how their home promotes simplicity and comfort.

    Love it.
