Old Knitting

Standard

My parents and sisters took some time this week to go through our store room. They brought back some treasures for me. One was my childhood favorite book, The Little Engine that Could, for Luke. And the other was this:

What is that?” you say. Well, I’ll tell you. It is a piece of knitting that I made when I was probably 8 or 9. It was a Barbie skirt! I don’t even remember who taught me to knit, but she only taught me to cast on and knit. So that’s all I ever did, but I sure did invent some interesting things to do with those rectangles.

I love to see how, even then, I liked to make things with my hands. And it is encouraging to see the differences in my childish knitting and what the Lord enables me to create now.

About Rachel

Most importantly, I am saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is more than enough to satisfy my heart. In His abundant goodness, I am also delighted to be a wife and mama. I work at home and enjoy spending most of my time caring for my husband, 2 sons and new daughter. I also try to squeeze in some creativity, coffee, chocolate, and good books.
