I got to join some other women from my church on Saturday morning for a time of fellowship and prayer. The ladies that organized it did a wonderful job, and I wanted to share some of they areas that they had us pray through. I very much enjoyed the way they lead us to pray for specific issues, and provided Scriptures for us to use in those prayers.
- Our Nation and Leaders
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayer, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and for all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior.
~ 1 Timothy 2:1-3
- Our Church Staff
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantave to you.
~ Hebrews 13:17-18
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!
~ Psalm 67:1-3
- Personal Time of Confession and Renewal
And rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.
~ Joel 2:13
- Prayers for Salvation
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one the fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life.
~ 2 Corinthians 2:14-16
