My loverly little sister came to visit for a couple of days of her spring break. It was fantastic! We cooked, and crafted, and were all-around girly. 🙂
Her first night here, we made a Mediterranean meal. The country that we grew up in had a lot of Lebanese immigrants, so we love that kind of food. We made kabobs, couscous, hummus, tabbouleh, and pita bread:
See, it was good:
Sometime soon, I’ll post the recipes that we used. Some of them are authentic, and some are more Americanized, like the pita bread that was mixed, kneaded, and rose in my (wonderful) breadmaker. I was really excited too, because my husband REALLY liked the meal, and sometimes I get a little nervous about giving him new and exotic foods.
We also got to spend some time scrapbooking together. I really love crafting with other people. Its fun by yourself, but there’s something even better about working with someone else, even if you’re working on different projects. I don’t get to craft with other people very often right now; I know you’re surprised that Bret doesn’t jump at the opportunity to crochet or sew with me. Although, I do have to say, he did help me with the first scrapbook page for the baby scrapbook. I think that’s because I had just gotten a cool new cutter, and he liked to use that tool. Anyways, we both got several pages done in our respective scrapbooks.
Totally unrelated to anything previous to this: IT IS 92 DAYS TILL MY DUE DATE!!!!!!!!!!
